U3
Apart from some preparations in other buildings and stations, U3 line belongs to the second construction phase of the the Vienna subway network. Like U1, it is newly built and passes through the city in east-western direction. In 1996, the middle section has been completed, but at both ends extensions were under construction to reach the originally planned terminus stations.
